Retained by Farmington Bank to provide planning, design and move management services for multiple branch locations, Tecton was also selected to study the feasibility of consolidating the bank’s five individual operation centers into one corporate location.

The study resulted in Tecton’s design of the bank’s new 53,000 SF corporate headquarters in Farmington, Connecticut. The completed project presents a financial institution that is solid and established - yet forward thinking, flexible and collaborative.

With goals of fostering open communication and collaboration between employees and encouraging interaction with the surrounding community, the renovations feature a variety of adaptable, multifunctional spaces. Versatile, changeable furnishings and folding panel walls are easily reconfigured to accommodate such diverse uses as board meetings, training sessions, team building events and large and small social functions. The bank also frequently opens its headquarters to local businesses and civic organizations.

Energy-efficient and sustainable features are incorporated throughout the renovation, including glass-front executive suites and workspaces to daylight both the offices and the surrounding hallways, self-adjusting lighting and heating/cooling sensors to maximize energy usage, and solar panels installed over existing skylights to improve heating and cooling functions as well as enhance acoustic quality.
