Naugatuck Savings Bank’s Operations Center combines a diverse set of program requirements. Featuring a Learning/Training Center for 120 people, data center, customer call center and various operations departments, there’s also an upscale “oasis” near the meeting rooms, providing food services throughout the day. The “new era,” full-service Branch Bank includes both teller stations and a drive-up teller, plus an investment café and a vault.
Juxtaposing the open and inviting two-story, full-height, curved glass entrance that both harvests daylight and offers views of the distant hills, is the highly articulated precast concrete skin with punctuated window expanses and colonnade entrance loggia.
Retaining the character of the Bank’s downtown facilities, with their limestone clad, classically detailed buildings, the new Operations Center creatively updates NSB’s image. The precast concrete cladding expresses the Bank’s solidity; and it was key to resolving multiple winter constructability issues and facilitating on-time project completion.
